Never forget.... You have the power to change your life.
You are more powerful than you think. Truly. Your life is defined not by what happened to you in your childhood, high school, relationships…. but how you choose to think about and respond to those experiences. Moving forward, choose to live in the present…. leave the past in the past and live today, in the here and now. Take an assessment of your life: relationships, work, social activities, educational opportunities, living arrangement…. how do you feel about each? Are you happy, fulfilled, satisfied? Or are there areas of your life that could use improvement? If there is something about your life you don’t like… you have the power to change it.
Choose the area of your life most in need of change, and tackle that first. Set a long term goal for yourself (think 1-3 years out), then set 3-5 short term goals that will help you get there. Share your goals with a few people close to you who are consistently the most positive and supportive in your life. Do a weekly check in: did the choices you made and actions you took in the past week bring you closer or further away from your goal? Adjust as needed. Most importantly, choose to have a positive outlook, believe in yourself and don’t be afraid to be your biggest cheerleader!
Change isn’t easy, but your happiness is worth the effort.
